In 1921, the men's magazine "Companion" tried to be the finest New York weekly as to compete with the snobbish and superficial "The New Yorker". The cover of the first issue would be a portrait of the person that was to finance the weekly, Peggy Guggenheim. I received the commitment, but I was advised that the nose should be embellished. I did it the best I could.
The editor loved my job, but Peggy didn´t. Besides, she ordered to burn the whole edition and threatened me by phone. The magazine project vanished in the air and I left New York for good.
Anyway, I think my job was not so bad.

En el año 1921, la revista para hombres "Companion" intentó ser la publicación más refinada de New York, y competir con la superficial y snob "The New Yorker". La portada del primer número sería un retrato de la persona que financiaría el semanario, Peggy Guggenheim. Me encargaron el trabajo, pero me aconsejaron que le embelleciera la nariz. Lo hice lo mejor que pude.
Al editor le encantó mi trabajo, pero a Peggy no. Además ordenó quemar la edición y me amenazaron por teléfono. El proyecto de revista se esfumó en el aire y yo abandoné New York para siempre. Creo que mi trabajo no estaba tan mal, en fin. Buenas tardes.
